Church Purity is a ministry providing churches with resources to promote sexual purity and encourages each church and pastor to understand the problem of pornography and sexual addiction among church-goers.
Church Purity desires to break through the barriers of secrecy and silence that keep people from gaining freedom from sexual addiction.
Why is Sexual Purity Important?
The widespread use of the internet makes porn accessible, anonymous and affordable. Pornography is highly addictive, and actually changes brain chemistry. Recent studies show that two-thirds of all Christian men have visited internet porn sites and are currently struggling. The fastest growing segment of porn site visitors is women.
The first thing we can all do is stop pretending there is not a problem. Start today by making a commitment to sexual purity. Become aware of resources for sexual purity and begin using those resources. Encourage your church to take the steps to becoming a Purity Church by:
- Sponsoring a retreat or a seminar on sexual purity.
- Encouraging the installation of filtering software and/or accountability software for every church office and every home.
- Encouraging families to utilize only forms of entertainment that promote healthy Christian values.
